Seems like a life time has gone by since the launch, yet I still find myself running round like a mad man.
The track and TT racing has been none stop and very successful so far, with the boys getting some great results. George Elliott is leading the Manchester Velodrome ACT league as we go into the summer break with Brandon and Joel both sitting in the top 10 on points. Alex Coates and Louis Evans are both in good shape at the Derby track league as well.
We are now in full TT season, this is a discipline we seem to enjoy, with all but 2 riders taking part in the qualifying round of the prestigious national junior time trial competition, the GHS 10 qualifier. We finished with the fastest over all rider, plus the fastest 13, 14, 15 year olds plus fastest team. A day that will stand out for me as it's one ride on fora crack at the national final, where previous winners have been Chris Boardman, Alex Dowsett and Ian Stannard. The boys really did leave it all on the road.
I feel like we are the crest of wave at the moment with all the good results, but as we swing into the road season we might not have it all our own way. Road and circuit racing is where the boys will need to put in, not just hard work but team work and togetherness, a bond only created by the drive of all wanting the same thing for each other. This is where Innovation Trek excels, we will win or loose as team, not 7 riders but a unit of 1. One innovation rider didn't win the Manchester and district TT championship, 7 did, it just has one riders name on the trophy. The joy the boys shared, when George won was fantastic and says a lot about our team spirit and bond. As long as they continue keep this bond they will achieve what they set out to. Have fun and race well.
