As the track season comes to a Summer break, it gives us time to reflect on how we have done over the first half of the season and liaise with our sponsors. The sponsors are very important to our long term aim of running a successful team. One of the success we have seen, is the amount of exposure all the sponsors have received. We couldn't of dreamed of such a good start and this success has reflected well on all our sponsors. One that has worked far better than they could have hoped for, is with Ellis Whittam, a HR and employment law consultants based in Chester. They where a little unsure if this would give them the kind of advertising they needed, so after some careful thought and discussions, they came on board as a small sponsors. To their surprise they have really enjoyed some great exposure from being a sponsor and we hope to nurture and grow this partnership for 2018. Small steps like this allows us push on with our plans to grow the team from 7 riders at present to 10, for next season, 5 youth A riders and 5 junior riders. With this expansion of the team we will require more sponsors, but this is all part of the business plan. With Lee and I already lining up meetings to try and foster new partnerships with new companies. Sometimes I wonder how I get chance to go racing myself.
In May, the team attended the Shrewsbury Grand Prix circuit race. This was a fantastic race put on by the Trek concept store in Shrewsbury. For us, this was a great experience not just the race, but being sponsored by Trek Wilmslow, we got to enjoy some perks from Trek Shrewsbury, that made the riders feel really special. The one thing I can say about Trek, is the great family feeling and wanting to put something back into the cycling community. We feel proud to be a small part of that, let's hope it continues for a few seasons.
