Well it’s Christmas again, the season has flown by like Chris Hoy in a sprint. We have been busy getting everything ready for the start of the new season with three new riders coming in and the departure of one rider, Alex, who we wish well for the future with his new team. With a team you will always have some comings and goings, this is to be expected and all part of running a team. Just like every other aspect of what we do, we make sure we have a plan and a solid foundation in place for such situations.
The new season kicks off on the 8th January with some riders back at the ACT track league, closely followed by the Manchester Track league, throw in the odd Ice Breaker and Woolly Mamil and it’s back to racing full gas before you can say Happy New Year.
The one thing I’m really looking forward to, is the CTT Champions dinner in Oxford on the 13th. With three of our riders picking up their National medals at the black tie event. This will be a very proud night for the team and parents.
As we move into February the racing really kicks in with our juniors all hoping to make the start line of the Clayton Classic. New junior team manager Andrew, will hope to get all the riders round in one piece and should hopefully get a feel of what the riders can do. Junior racing is a huge step up so we won’t put any pressure on them at Clayton. That said Andrew has high hopes for the junior team as they will target the premier calendar races this season.
The calendar for the youth riders is looking very full with most of them racing 2-3 times a week, this makes for some serious miles to get them where they need to be. Last but by now means least, the parents show a huge amount of dedication getting the riders all over the country. They are the all important cogs in the team machine and without them the task would be enormous for us to deal with. With all these great people and sponsors on board we are hopeful of an even better season. We hope you will following and cheering the boys on again. Your support has been brilliant and we can’t thank you all enough for the posts, kind words and encouragement. Have a Merry Christmas and wonderful new year.
