The new season is here and the new team set up is in full flow with us now running a youth and a junior team. The team car and new manager Andrew have been racking up the miles. The early part of the year saw some strong rides at various track events with Joel racing at the Olympic velodrome and also the National Ice Breakers at Newport Wales. Joel, Ross and Sam also race the local ACT and MTL track leagues getting good results weekly.
The early season road and circuit races have been very stop start, with the wonderful British weather causing races to be cancelled. The lads took part in the Woolly Mamil races, all 3 rounds had snow, wind and rain. All the riders involved, from all over the country, made for exciting racing with big fields of riders.
Next up was the Clayton Classic for the juniors. This is a road race where the pro teams race as well. The rain held off but with freezing temperature to contend with it made it a very hard race. The lads worked hard and finish high up with George coming 3rd junior rider. This shows us what a good team we have and how well they can work together. Both Sam and Jack taking huge turns on the front to keep the group away. Well done lads.
We how head into the TT season with some of our riders targeting National events as well as local races. The Manchester and District championship is undecided as yet with one being cancelled due to snow let’s hope they can reschedule this soon. Two of our rides will contest the North Lancashire Championship next. Then comes the seasons biggest TT event the GHS. This will decide who goes to the national final from each area. Let’s hope is one of our boys again. With the road season in full swing the races will be coming thick and fast now. Andrew and myself will be busy getting riders all over the country to race so if you see the black Trek car pass you on the motorway don’t forget to beep and wave as it might just be George, Louis,
